Gemcraft

Some of my friends have gotten me addicted to a game called Gemcraft Labyrinth. It's a tower defense game where you fight waves of enemies with gems that have different powers. It's extremely addictive. The first several levels are easy, but then it gets extremely hard especially with the experience multipliers on. (I suggest getting the red gems as often as you can, they are amazing).

If you want to check it out, here is the link:

Dance Monkeys Dance

One of my friends showed me this flash animation of Ernest Cline's poem Dance Monkeys Dance. He refers to all humans as just a bunch of monkeys and points out some of the ridiculous behaviors we do.

"Monkeys whose brains have evolved
to such an unmanageable size
that it's now pretty much impossible
for them stay happy for any length of time

In fact, they're the only animals
that think they're supposed to be happy.
All of the other animals can just be.

But it's not that simple for the monkeys."

Anyway, I thought it was worth mentioning because he has some very interesting points.
Here is the site where you can hear the whole thing: http://www.ernestcline.com/spokenword/dance.htm.

Start off With Some Photos

Hello, I thought I would start the first post off with a couple photos I have found around the internet that I thought were cool. I am planning to use this website as a way to just compile random things I find, whether they be pictures, games, or the occasional philosophy or psychology article. Also, I may take a stab at writing a few ideas I have about life. For example, I am interested about the Nihilistic view on life - that life is essentially meaningless. Perhaps we are able to create meaning ourselves through our goals and aspirations that give us reason and motivation to wake up in the morning.

Anyway, I'll bring things up like that another time. It's late and I am ready to relax. I hope you enjoy a few pictures I found here:
